Mom Shares Simple Yet Important Lesson She’s Teaching Her Daughter

Parents have so many lessons to teach their kids, it’s no wonder it can get overwhelming. That said, at the end of the day, much of parenting seems to boil down to this: Learning as you go. Rachel Dustin was reminded of this recently. Now, Mom is sharing the simple lesson she thinks others may find helpful, too.

Parents are often told their kids have to learn “the hard way.” What this looks like, exactly, depends on the situation. Ultimately, it’s about letting kids deal with the consequences of their actions. While this is needed at times, Rachel realized that’s not the only lesson she wants her kids to learn. Find out more in the video below.

There’s so much nuance when it comes to parenting. But as Rachel shows, parents can both teach their kids to be responsible and prove they can always count on their parents’ support. Others added on to this simple tip by pointing out that it’s a parent’s job to teach their kids how to be more responsible.

When Her Daughter Forgets Her Instrument, Mom Discovers an Important Lesson She Can Give Her Middle Schooler

One commentor gave examples: “Teach them to set reminders, put sticky notes on the door, etc. You have to be a parent. You can’t just expect a child to learn through refusing to help them through mistakes.”

Not every lesson a parent gives is direct. Every day, kids see how their parents interact with the world. They learn from their behavior, good and bad. None of us are perfect, of course. But our actions do matter, and Alison Havens was reminded of this in the best way. Mom tries to speak kindly, and the above video makes it clear her kid is following suit.

Similarly, Ms. Moni is using her skills as a musician to help her little ones view themselves in a positive light.

@msmoniteaches 💛 This song has been so special to write and create- I’ve been singing it to both our kids at night and they love echoing the affirmations 🥰 I’m so lucky to be able to make music alongside my little bestie. And she’s so excited to be singing on “Ms Mummy’s” album 🥰 I hope you love it as much as we do in our house 💛 #msmoni #toddler #toddlermusic #toddlersongs #toddleraffirmations #affirmations #parents #mums #moms #dads #parent #kidsmusic ♬ original sound – Ms Moni

Not every parent can write and perform a song for their kid, but they can help them speak kindly about themselves. Plus, talented folks like Ms. Moni share their sweet songs with the world, too! Being a parent isn’t easy, but taking notes on the lessons others have already learned can be oh-so-helpful.
